John Heard dead at 72

John Heard has died, according to reports. He was 72. The actor was found in a hotel and was pronounced dead on the scene Friday night, according to TMZ. The “Sopranos” actor, who began his career in the 1970s, had “minor back surgery” this week and was recovering at the hotel in Palo Alto, Calif., the site reported. His cause of death was still unclear. Heard also played the role of Macaulay Culkin’s father in the hit “Home Alone” movies. Reps for Heard did not immediately respond to request for comment.
